Fr. Thibodeau Called to His Rest (13 July 2015)


On July 1, 2015, the Reverend Andre M. Thibodeau was called to his rest and to the glory of the Resurrection promised by the Lord. He was 70 years old.

Father Thibodeau was born on April 23, 1945 in Nashua, New Hampshire and was ordained a priest on May 15, 1971 by the Most Reverand Ernest J. Primeau, S.T.D., at Saint Joseph’s Cathedral in Manchester. Father Thibodeau studied at Saint Anselm College, Manchester, NH. He attended St. Francis Seminary, Loretto, PA and then completed his ecclesiastical studies at Mt. St. Mary’s Seminary in Baltimore, MD.


Father Thibodeau was appointed pastor of Saint Theresa Parish in Henniker and then St. Mary Parish in Hillsboro. He retired from ministry in 2008 and served as chaplain and resident at St. Theresa Healthcare Center in Manchester. He had more recently been a resident of Bishop Peterson Residence in Manchester.


Father Thibodeau also served as Chaplain to Rockhill District BSA,, Manchester for two three year terms; Chaplain to Notre Dame Council #5163, Knights of Columbus, Manchester. He also participated in the Pastoral Enrichment Program, Pastoral Institute, St. John’s Seminary in Brighton, MA.


The Most Reverend Francis J. Christian, D.D., Auxiliary Bishop of Manchester, will preside at a Mass of Christian Burial at MOst Blessed Sacrament Chapel at Saint Joseph Cathedral, Manchester on Thursday, July 16, 2015 at 10:30am. The Rite of Committal will be celebrated privately. The Connor Healy Funeral Home of Manchester, New Hampshire has care of the arrangements.
