Rev. Andre M.J. Thibodeau, 70, of Manchester, NH, died July 12, 2015, after a period of failing health.
Born in Nashua, NH on April 23, 1945, he [was] the son of Dorilas and Sylvia (Claveau) Thibodeau.
Fr. Thibodeau was ordained a priest on May 15, 1971 by the Most Reverend Ernest J. Primeau, D.D., S.T.D., at Saint Joseph Cathedral, Manchester. He studied at Saint Anselm College, Manchester, and St, Francis Seminary, Loretto, PA. He completed his ecclesiastical studies at St. Mary Seminary, Baltimore, MD.
Father Thibodeau served as associate pastor of St. Paul Church, Franklin, Ste. Marie Church, St. Augustin Church, and Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church, all in Manchester. Afterwards, Father Thibodeau was appointed pastor of Saint Theresa Church, Henniker and later at St. Mary Church, Hillsboro. He retired from active ministry in 2008 and served as chaplain at St. Teresa Healthcare Center.
He was chaplain to Rockhill District BSA as well as Knights of Columbus, Notre Dame Council #5163.
Family members include his sister, Joanne Brofer, of Sierra Vista, AZ; two nieces; a nephew; and several cousins.
Services: The Most Reverend Francis J. Christian, D.D., Auxiliary Bishop of Manchester, will preside at a mass of Christian burial to be celebrated on Thursday at 10:30AM in the Most Blessed Sacrament Chapel at Saint Joseph Cathedral, Lowell Street, Manchester.
The Rite of Commital will be celebrated privately in St. Louis de Gonzague Cemetery, Nashua, NH.
The Conner Healy Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 537 Union Street of Manchester, New Hampshire is in charge of the arrangements.
