The Infant Jesus CYO drama group was the winner of the annual Hillsboro Deanery CYO one-act play contest held recently.
The winning play was entitled “Dearly Departed”, and was directed by Roland Chasse assisted by Andre Thibodeau.
Other plays entered in the content were “A Castle in a Village” by the St. Louis de Gonzague CYO and “On My Hitchin’ Day” by the St. Patrick CYO of Milford.
The winner of the best actor award was Russell Marcoux who portrayed Mr. Llewellyn in the St. Louis de Gonzague presentation.
Fay Trombly of the Infant Jesus CYO won the best actress award. She portrayed a young girl named Vickie.
Judges for the contest were Sr. Judith Marie from Rivier College. Mrs. Nancy Hendrick from the Nashua High School and Brother Ignatius from Bishop Guertin High.
The Infant Jesus CYO drama group will now enter the diocesan play contest to be held on May 2 in Littleton.
